I prayed for this child, and the Lord answered my prayer. He gave me this child. And now I give this child to the Lord. He will serve the Lord all his life.” Then Hannah left the boy there and worshiped the Lord. 1 Samuel 1:27-28 ERV:
Giving your children to God and seeing them baptized was an act of faith, but it did not mean they would never experience heartbreak. It means you entrusted them to the One who would remain with them through every heartbreak. Hannah gave Samuel to the Lord in 1 Samuel 1:27–28. Samuel still had to grow, learn, and live among people who sometimes made painful choices. In the same way, our children may face disappointment, loss, consequences, or the choices of others. This does not mean God has abandoned them, or that you fail as a mother. Sometimes God prevents the storm. Other times, He holds His children while they walk through it. Heartache can deepen compassion, strengthen faith, and teach them to depend upon God for themselves. Keep praying and trusting. The children you placed in God’s hands are still in His hands. Dedicating a child to God is of even more importance than educating him or her.
Dear Blessed Lord Jesus, I gave my children to You, and it hurts to see them suffer. Please protect their hearts, guide their decisions, and draw them closer to You through every trial. Remind me that You love them even more than I do. Give me peace while I wait, pray, and trust You with their lives. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Your Mighty Precious Name Lord Jesus Amen.
