Always remember these commands that I give you today. Be sure to teach them to your children. Talk about these commands when you sit in your house and when you walk on the road. Talk about them when you lie down and when you get up. Deuteronomy 6:6-7
We may not have been rich, but our home was filled with treasures money could never buy. We walked to church together and talked about Jesus along the way. At bedtime, we prayed and placed our worries in God’s hands. I miss those precious days, but I know the seeds of faith were planted. My children and grandchildren may be grown now, but the prayers, Bible lessons, and love they received will always be part of them. We did not have everything, but we had Jesus, one another, and a beautiful life filled with faith. Do you wonder what is wrong with our children today? We have gotten away from instructing them in God’s laws. More of the Word and prayer should be taught in schools like it was in the olden days. Be taught at home also this should be the first place, second place church and third place school. We are already Won with God because He created us.
Dear Blessed Lord Jesus, thank You and praise You for those precious gifts of memories with my children and grandchildren. Please keep the seeds of faith that were planted in their hearts growing. Remind them of our prayers, our walks to church, and the love we shared. We may not have been rich in possessions, but we were richly blessed by You. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Your Mighty Precious Name Lord Jesus Amen.
