“Soul Who Sins Shall Die”

The one who sins is the one who will be put to death. A son will not be punished for his father’s sins, and a father will not be punished for his son’s sins. (A daughter will not be punished for her mother’s sins, and a mother will not be punished for her daughter’s sins.) A good man’s goodness belongs to him alone, and a bad man’s evil belongs to him alone. Ezekiel 18:20 ERV

“The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son.” This verse emphasizes individual moral responsibility: one person’s sin (including theft) does not automatically make another person guilty. This reminds us of personal responsibility before God: our choices matter, and we cannot hide behind another’s sin. God’s justice calls each person to honest self-examination, while His mercy invites repentance and a new way of living. Let this truth move you to own your actions, seek forgiveness where needed, and pursue righteousness day by day.

Dear Blessed Lord Jesus, help me to see my life clearly and to take responsibility for my choices. Give me courage to turn from what is wrong, wisdom to walk in what is right, and grace to grow in holiness. Each day I fall short of Your glory. The new days are not like the old days. There is too much to do and not enough time to do it. Forgive me. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Your Precious Name Amen.
