“Just Don’t Sit There!”

Then the Israelite leaders and officers agreed to offer gifts to help the Lord’s work. They included the leaders of clans and the leaders of Israel’s tribes, the army officers who led 1,000 men and who led 100 men, and the officers with authority for the king’s work. They gave these gifts for God’s temple:

190 tons of gold.

10,000 gold coins.

380 tons of silver.

675 tons of bronze.

3,750 tons of iron.

People who had valuable stones gave them for the Lord’s house. Jehiel from Gershon’s clan stored them in a safe place. The people were very happy that their leaders gave these things. They were pleased to give to help the Lord’s work. King David was also very happy. 1 Chronicles 29:6-9 EASY

The people willingly gave their valuable possessions to help build God’s temple. Their gifts were not forced. They gave because their hearts were devoted to the Lord. The offerings were also placed under trustworthy care, showing the importance of faithful stewardship. Giving God the leftovers didn’t originate with the Old Testament giving habits. If they tithed before Christ came, surely, we should at least do as much. Quit tipping God and start Tithing. You will see if you could only give a Nickle this year and volunteer, by next year you will be giving $20.00 because as a volunteer you know where it is going to the poor and powerless where you once was. God does not measure our gifts only by their earthly value. He looks at the love, faith, and willingness behind them. Whatever God has placed in our hands, whether money, time, talents, or encouragement, can become precious when we dedicate it to His work.

Dear Blessed Lord Jesus, help me give willingly and faithfully from what You have placed in my hands. May everything I offer bring honor to You and help accomplish Your purpose. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Your mighty Precious Name Lord Jesus Amen.
