Paul contrasts the outer and inner self. Our bodies age and weaken, but our inner person is being renewed daily by God’s sustaining grace. This is not a promise of easier circumstances, but a promise that God’s life and purpose continue to grow within us despite hardship. When you feel worn out, remember renewal can be quiet and internal, a fresh trust, a new perspective, a deeper patience. In suffering or slow seasons, look for small signs of growth: compassion that wasn’t there before, steadier faith, or a willingness to hope again. Make space for renewal through prayer, Scripture, rest, and community; these are ordinary channels God uses to refresh the inner life.
That is why we never give up. Our physical body is becoming older and weaker, but our spirit inside us is made new every day. 2 Corinthians 4:16 Easy: You may be tired, discouraged, or watching your strength ebb. This verse reminds us that physical decline doesn’t cancel spiritual renewal, God is at work inside us each day, refreshing our inner life even when our bodies feel worn.
Where do you feel weakest right now, physically, emotionally, or spiritually?
What small sign of inner renewal have you noticed recently?

Father God, thank You and praise You that You renew my inner life even when my body grows tired. Help me to notice the quiet work You are doing, to trust You in weakness, and to cooperate with Your renewing Spirit through prayer, rest, and obedience. Strengthen my hope and give me eyes to see Your daily grace. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Jesus Precious Name Amen.
