Romans 2:6-8: God “will repay each person according to what they have done.” To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger.
I love these verse’s 2 Corinthians 12:9 comforts you with God’s sufficiency in your weakness. Romans 2:6–8 reminds us that God is just and will repay each person according to their choices. Together those truths hold a hard but healing balance: God’s power meets you in your vulnerability while His justice holds wrong choices accountable. You can feel compassion for people who hurt you without excusing their choices. That compassion protects your heart from bitterness and lets God be the judge and the healer.
Lord Jesus, praise You and thank You for meeting us in our weakness and for Your righteous judgment. Help us to hold both truths at once: to feel compassion for those who acted from pain and to trust that You will make all things right. Guard our hearts from bitterness. Give us peace, clarity about healthy boundaries, and the courage to forgive when forgiveness is right. Let Your grace be our strength and Your justice our comfort. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Your Precious Name Amen.
If you’re carrying anger or confusion, name one boundary you need to keep yourself safe and one small act of mercy you can offer that won’t harm you.
