“Mutual Submission To Christ First”

The biblical pattern is for the wife to yield control to the husband and to do all she can to please him and make him prosper. The husband is not to dominate, but to do all he can to bless and protect his wife so that she prospers in the Lord. An Vica Versa! A deeply biblical, covenant-centered view of marriage emphasizes that it is never one-sided.

“Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.” — Ephesians 5:21

“The Wife’s Calling”

The Bible does speak of a wife yielding to her husband’s leadership, but never as loss of dignity or voice. Yielding is voluntary trust, not coercion. Pleasing her husband is rooted in love, partnership, and shared purpose. Her labor contributes to the household’s flourishing. Her wisdom strengthens the family’s future.

“She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.” — Proverbs 31:12

“The Husband’s Calling”

The husband’s role is weighty and sacrificial, not privileged. He is to love as Christ loved the church. He bears responsibility for protection, provision, and spiritual covering. His leadership exists to help his wife prosper in the Lord. He is accountable to God for how he treats her.

“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her.” — Ephesians 5:25
