“I leave you peace. It is my own peace I give you. I give you peace in a different way than the world does. So don’t be troubled. Don’t be afraid. John 14:27
You might be carrying worry or unrest today; Jesus speaks directly into that place with a promise of calm. “Peace, I leave with you; my peace I give you” reminds us that His peace is not the absence of trouble but His presence within trouble. All the world has to offer is temporary tranquilizers in one form or another to keep the mind off the condition of the heart. Trust Jesus Christ our Lord for real peace of mind and heart. A natural mind brings natural blessings. A mind overloaded by hate and drugs is Satan’s way of confusing the body, mind and soul. “You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.” Matthew 10:22
His peace steadies the heart and mind even when circumstances are chaotic.
Turn your attention from the problem to the Person, pray, breathe Scripture, and rest in the truth that He is with you.
When anxiety rises, name one truth about God, breathe slowly for a minute, and repeat that truth aloud.
Lord Jesus, thank You for the peace You give that the world cannot give. Calm my restless thoughts, steady my heart, and help me rest in Your presence today. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the Honor and glory in the Mighty Name of the Lord Jesus Amen.
