“God Speaks Are You Listening?”

“Or those who are sick in bed might be suffering punishment from God. The pain that makes their bones ache might be a warning from him. Job 33:19 ERV

When God speaks through suffering, He often does so to turn us back from danger and to teach us wisdom. Suffering can feel like a dead end, confusing, painful, and isolating. In Job 33:19 we see a different angle: pain can be God’s way of getting our attention. Rather than punishment only, it can be a corrective voice that warns us away from harm and guides us toward growth. When we’re honest about our hurts, we open the door to learning. God doesn’t waste our wounds; He can use them to shape our character, deepen our dependence, and steer us toward wiser choices. Today, listen for the lesson inside the ache. Ask God to show you what needs changing, and trust that His correction aims to restore, not to destroy. He is always there for us, even when we are not there for Him. Think about the times in your life when you’ve seen God answer your prayers. If it’s been many times, write each one down and thank Him. Once you’ve written everything and expressed your gratitude, set the notebook or journal aside, and use it only to record every answered prayer.

Dear Blessed Lord Jesus, in the middle of my pain help me hear Your voice. Give me wisdom to see what You want to change in me, courage to turn from what harms, and grace to grow through this season. Heal what is broken and lead me into Your peace. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Your Mighty Precious Name Lord Jesus Amen.
