And the Spirit himself speaks to our spirits and makes us sure that we are God’s children. If we are God’s children, we will get the blessings God has for his people. He will give us all that he has given Christ. But we must suffer like Christ suffered. Then we will be able to share his glory. We have sufferings now, but these are nothing compared to the great glory that will be given to us. Everything that God made is waiting with excitement for the time when he will show the world who his children are. The whole world wants very much for that to happen. Romans 8:16–19 ERV:

The Spirit testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children, and creation waits eagerly for the revealing of God’s children. The Spirit’s witness is an intimate assurance: even in our deepest sorrow and confusion, we belong to God. That belonging doesn’t remove pain, but it gives our grief a place to rest, held by a Father who knows every tear. Paul reminds us that our present suffering is not the final word. Creation itself longs for the freedom and restoration that will come when God’s children are fully revealed. In the meantime, the Spirit is with us, confirming our identity and steadying our hope. When loss feels overwhelming, let the Spirit’s quiet testimony, you are God’s child, be the anchor that holds you through the storm.

Dear Blessed Lord Jesus, thank You and Praise You that Your Spirit testifies that we are Your children. In the midst of this deep grief, remind us of our identity in You. Hold the brokenhearted close, give them Your peace that passes understanding, and steady their hope for the day when all sorrow is made new. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Your Mighty Precious Name Amen.
