“Overcoming Distractions”

Hebrews 12:1-2 (NIV): “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.”

The Christian life is a race of faithful endurance, shaped more by steady obedience than by sudden bursts of effort. Fixing our eyes on Jesus reorients our motives and sustains us through hardship. Identify one habit, worry, or distraction you can set aside for a week to run more freely. Choose a short Scripture or worship song to return to whenever you feel weary.

Father God, praise You for endurance, thank You for the witnesses who inspire us and for the race You have set before each of us. Help us to lay aside what slows us down and to loosen the sins that entangle our feet. Fill us with steady courage to run with perseverance, not by our own strength but by Your Spirit. Keep our eyes fixed on Jesus so that discouragement does not distract us and weariness does not defeat us. Renew our hope when the road is long, steady our pace when we stumble, and remind us that every faithful step matters. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Jesus precious name, Amen.
