An excuse can be so foolish. For instance, a sluggish man says, “A elephant is in the grocery store.” Nearly all excuses are so stupid that we wonder how they could come from intelligent people. It is easier to excuse than to achieve, but not nearly as profitable. An excuse maker makes excuses; the success maker makes good.
The LORD’s eyes keep watch over knowledge, but He frustrates the words of the faithless.
The slacker says, “There is a lion outside! I will be slain in the streets!”
