From this gift of the Holy Ghost, Peter preaches unto them Jesus: and here is the history of Christ. Here is an account of his death and sufferings, which they witnessed but a few weeks before. His death is considered as God’s act; and of wonderful grace and wisdom. Outpouring of the Holy Spirit. This incident is referred to as the birth of the church – the Holy Spirit working in the life of the believers to fulfil the will of God on earth. We can see significant similarities between the day of Pentecost and birth of Christ. Too long have we tried to produce on our own power and have discovered that we have the wrong connection and the lines were down. We must be filled with the Spirit or be content with human frustration. Believers living in the midst of these days and the proof of God’s mighty power around the world is more than enough proof. The promise is unto the believer.
