One bird asks, “Are you Jesus’s forerunner, or are you running away from Jesus?” It’s a question that reaches straight into the heart. Are we boldly preparing the way for Christ, or quietly retreating when His call feels costly?
The other bird answers simply, “Can’t a bird pray?” Not defensive. Not dismissive. Just honest. Sometimes faith isn’t about standing in front or running ahead. Sometimes it’s about stopping long enough to pray. Before we lead, before we flee, before we decide what obedience looks like, there is prayer. Jesus reminded us to look at the birds of the air. They don’t strive or perform. They trust. They lift their voices without needing a title or a role. Prayer is not avoidance; it is alignment. Whether we are called to prepare the way or still finding our footing, prayer keeps us near the heart of God. Even a bird knows that.
Father God, when questions feel heavy and direction feels unclear, teach us to pause and pray. Help us trust that being with You matters more than proving where we stand. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Jesus Precious Name Amen.
