“Held by a Faithful God”

Psalm 31:14-15 But I trust in you, Lord;
I say, “You are my God.” My times are in your hands; deliver me from the hands of my enemies,
from those who pursue me.

David wasn’t speaking from a place of comfort when he wrote this. He was surrounded, pursued, misunderstood, and worn thin. And right there, in the middle of it, he made a choice:“I trust You.” Not because everything made sense. Not because the path was easy. Not because the pressure lifted. But because God was still God, and David knew it. “My times are in Your hands” is one of the most freeing truths in Scripture. It means: I don’t have to control what God has already claimed. I don’t have to rush what God is timing. I don’t have to fear what God is holding. I don’t have to fight battles God has already stepped into.There comes a point in every believer’s life when we realize something freeing and powerful: I don’t have to control what God has already claimed. My health, my finances, my business, my family, my future. none of these rest in the hands of systems, people, delays, or enemies. They rest in His hands. Steady hands. Faithful hands. Hands that have never dropped me. David understood this when he prayed, “But I trust in You, Lord; I say, ‘You are my God.’ My times are in Your hands.” He wasn’t speaking from comfort. He was surrounded, pressured, and pursued. Yet right in the middle of it, he made a declaration of trust. When David said, “Deliver me from those who pursue me,” he wasn’t only talking about people. He was talking about anything that tries to overwhelm, distract, or consume, fear, sickness, uncertainty, financial strain, emotional weight, spiritual battles. God sees every pressure you’re under. He sees every place you’ve been stretched. He sees every moment you’ve whispered, “Lord, I trust You,” even when your heart was tired. He holds your times, all of them, with care. This is something you can rest on, always knowing: He’s got your back.
