“Grace Restores”

“Put on kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. Colossians 3:12

There are moments in parenting when heaven feels very close, not because everything is peaceful, but because love steps into a mess and chooses grace. One afternoon, I walked into one of those moments. Years ago my son came home with tears on his face and a ripped homework paper in his hands. Someone had hurt him, not with fists, but with frustration and disrespect. And in that moment, I didn’t rush, I didn’t scold, I didn’t minimize. I put on what Scripture calls us to wear. I sat beside him. I listened to his hurt. I helped him rebuild what was torn. And when his heart still felt unsettled, I honored his integrity by placing the ripped paper in an envelope with a note, truth wrapped in gentleness. The next day, when he returned home smiling, it wasn’t just because the teacher understood. It was because he learned something holy: Grace doesn’t hide the broken pieces, it carries them into the light with honesty and love. This is what it means to be “clothed in grace.” Not perfect. Not polished. But present. Patient. Kind. Steady.

The world tears things. Grace restores. The world shames. Grace stands beside. The world rushes. Grace sits down and says, “We’ll fix this together.”

Father God, thank You for the quiet moments where Your character becomes visible in our everyday lives.
Teach us to put on kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, not just in big moments, but in the small
ones that shape a child’s heart. Help us carry grace into every situation, restoring what is torn and honoring
what is true. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Jesus Precious Name
Amen.
