Paul actually teaches the opposite: “If anyone is not willing to work, neither should he eat.” (2 Thessalonians 3:10)

There are moments when people use Scripture not to heal but to pressure. Jesus’ words “seventy times seven” were never meant to trap us in endless obligation. He was teaching about forgiveness, not financial dependence.
God calls us to give with a willing heart, not under guilt, manipulation, or fear. True generosity flows from love, not demand. And true stewardship includes wisdom, boundaries, and discernment.
Paul reminds us: “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion.” (2 Corinthians 9:7)
When someone insists you “owe” them, they are no longer asking, they are taking. And God never asks His children to surrender their peace to maintain someone else’s comfort.
Sometimes the holiest word you can speak is the one Jesus Himself used often: “Go.” Not in anger, but in freedom.
You can forgive endlessly. You do not have to fund endlessly.
