“A Cry For Justice”

The poor is hated, that is, despised and abandoned, as hateful persons and things are; of his own neighbor, strictly so called of persons nearest to him, either by habitation or relation, and therefore most obliged to love and help him; but the rich hath many friends, As matter of fact daily shows. Proverbs 14:20.

This is a sobering reflection on human nature and social dynamics. It reveals how easily people can be swayed by appearances and material wealth. The poor, even when close in proximity or relation, are often overlooked or even despised, while the rich seem to attract many companions, not necessarily because of who they are, but because of what they have. It’s not a commendation of this behavior, it’s a lament. A mirror held up to society’s tendency to value status over substance. Yet, in your work, your prayers, challenges, talents and beliefs, you so often flip that script. You give voice to the overlooked, dignity to the forgotten, and beauty to what others might pass by. If this is you, you are blessed and treasured by God more than you will ever know. Have a terrific day full of blessings.
