“Jehovah-Shalom”

This is the only place the name “Jehovah-Shalom” is in the bible. It is the name of an altar. It means Jehovah is peace. (So Gideon built an altar to the Lord there and called it The Lord Is Peace. To this day it stands in Ophrah of the Abiezrites. Judges 6:24) People make in front of Jehovah witnesses. Why? Those who believe in Jehovah will have peace. Jehovah God will take vengeance for His name, He will be glorified, and all his enemies will absolutely know that “I am” is Jehovah.” They will have to know that phrase I am Jehovah -Jehovah’s purpose to clear his name by means of his Kingdom is the main theme of the Bible. That theme is emphasized in the book of Ezekiel, which repeatedly states that “the nations will have to know that I am Jehovah.” (Ezekiel 36:23; 37:28; 38:23; 39:7) Notice that the nations will not choose whether to know that he is Jehovah or not. I am so tired of people blaming Jehovah for what He did not do and refusing to give Him credit for what He did. Right now, the knowledge that Jehovah God will remove all the reproach, the defamation, the gross disrespect, and the slander that has been heaped upon His beautiful name all these thousands of years makes me look forward to all the good Jehovah does as evil bites the dust and peace is everywhere Shalom. How immensely the Author of the Bible set store by his unique name is apparent from the fact that his Word uses it to refer to himself more often than all other designations put together, for a total of 6,961 times in the Hebrew Scriptures. His concern is also seen in the fact that the expression “they shall know that I am Jehovah” occurs upward of seventy-five times in those writings. The name “Jehovah” was chosen by Him with great purpose, for it literally means “He Causes to Become.” Jehovah’s distinctive name shows him to be a God of purpose. Whatever he purposes comes to pass. It reads in Isaiah 55:10-11:, As the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the Sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
