“Ash Wednesday”

Genesis 3:19 Easy-to-Read Version

You will work hard for your food, until your face is covered with sweat. You will work hard until the day you die, and then you will become dust again. I used dust to make you, and when you die, you will become dust again.”

Lord, You formed us from dust, and You know every breath we take. Today we return to You with bowed heads and open hearts. We remember that our strength fades, our bodies tire, and our days are numbered. But Your mercy is new every morning. Let these ashes remind us not just of death, but of the life You offer through Jesus. Teach us to walk humbly, to love deeply, and to live with eternity in mind. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Jesus Precious Name Amen.

“From Dust to Mercy”
(Ash Wednesday Poem) 2/18/2026
Ash on the brow, dust on the soul, a whisper of Eden where broken hearts roll.
Sweat on the face, work in the hand, we walk through the thorns on this borrowed land.
But mercy still calls in the silence of clay, and Jesus kneels near to show us the way. From dust we were made, to dust we return, but grace is the fire that never will burn.
